It had been a hard week. Three photo shoots in four days, flights, hotels, lenses and flashes. When I finally got home, the only thing I wanted was silence, hot water and nothing to think about.
I filled the bathtub to the brim. Added salts, bubbles, lit a candle. And slipped in slowly.
That's when my phone rang. It was him.
"Am I bothering you?" he asked.
"I'm in the bathtub," I said, without a filter or an apology.
There was a pause. Then his voice, a full tone lower: "Keep going. I just wanted to hear your voice."
We talked for almost an hour. The water went cold and I didn't even notice.
